The RYA Portsmouth Yardstick is a scheme operated jointly by the RYA and its Affiliated clubs. This site, in conjunction with SailRacer allows you to submit your Yardstick returns and receive back your club's adjusted handicaps.
Since its introduction in the 1950s, the RYA has resisted publishing the Portsmouth Numbers without, in the same document, publishing details of how the Numbers should used and how clubs should assist the RYA in determining meaningful Numbers for publication. This is still the case and is why this website includes recommendations on the Schemes use, including specimen races and the current Portsmouth Numbers. In the interests of correctness, readers and users of the Numbers should read the text before applying Numbers.
Manage your results
Thank you for submitting your handicap results from SailWave. Here you will be able to manage these, select which ones from part of your annual PY return and download suggested modified Pys based on your actual results.
You will need a club account to allow you to login to the system.
The system to process your handicap results is in final stages of development and testing. If you have registered your club you will be emailed when ready
